i am the secret ring shopper...
If you are in the market for an engagement ring, you have come to the right place. The companies I have reviewed has undergone an identical amount of scrutiny and everything I've written about them is true--for better or for worse.
You might ask yourself if there's really any difference between these companies. There is. While you can safely place an order from any site I've reviewed here, each company has its strengths and weaknesses. Take advantage of these reviews and determine for yourself which company is best suited for you.
what you'll find here
The premise of this site is fairly simple: I buy an engagement ring from online diamond jewelers and document the entire process. Most people think online diamond shopping comes down to Blue Nile vs. James Allen, but that is simply not the case. There are plenty of online options, and hopefully over time I will get a chance to review them all. My reviews are not copied-and-pasted or generic, these are my own first hand experiences. It's important to note that all of these companies are legitimate. If your only concern is getting ripped off, you can rest easy--you will get exactly what you purchased at any of these sites. The difference is in the details, and it is up to you to decide which site is best for your needs.
Before buying an engagement ring (or any other diamond jewelry item, for that matter), take a few minutes and read up on how diamonds are evaluated and graded. No need to get obsessive over it, just get the basics. Keep in mind that to the naked eye, there isn't much difference between the various gradings, so don't get too caught up with trying to get a D color or VVS1 clarity diamond. The most important factor in a diamond's sparkle and shine is the "cut" quality. My best advice would be to focus on buying the best cut grade within your budget.
